There's a certain grotesque quality to them which appealed to me at the time. They are on my shortlist for my annual calendar, though I may darken the background a bit for that.

Slayer,

Sorry, this image has not been released into the main photo collection here.

It will show in this area for a short time as an example of a rejected image, so we can be helpful and in this case explain what the problem was..

The image is too small. Images on ukexpert are full size, and pretty well as they come out of the camera in general. So, with a modern camera a digital image will usually be several thousand pixels down its longest side, and usually something between 2 and 8 megabytes in size.

The image above is cut down to just 1024 x 768 pixels, and is just a 220k file.

The image has also lost its EXIF information, this is the info a digital camera will normally add to a photo, showing when it was taken and with what settings and what camera etc.

I hope the feedback was helpful. If you have good full size images that are intact and not crushed down etc please feel free to upload them.

Steve

Very nostalgic a good decision to convert to sepia.

Great atmosphere in this one Andy, as John says the light on the cobbles really sets it off.........you almost expect something sinister to happen!

Impressive high ISO image. The graininess adds to the atmosphere. I particularly like the light reflected off the cobbles.
