I have never been able to confirm it, but there is a local story that Lewis Carroll was a regular visitor to Redcar, and stayed in a house on the terrace where I live. If true, it may have had an influence on the lines above!

Well, this is a new venture for me - writing a 'blog' that is. Not a very nice word, I've often thought, though I can't claim that as a reason for not writing before.

Maybe it's just me, but I found myself debating my motives for doing this. Eventually I came to no particular conclusion, other than that I wanted to share some of the pleasures of one aspect of my life with a wider audience.
