We are now running 'Subscriber Challenges' where ukexpert subscribers can compete for prizes and engraved awards via regular fun photo Competitions!  

The Subscriber Challenge photo upload areas can be seen near the top of the front page of our Photos and Video area.

• ukexpert is of course building a collection of quality photographs, and it is therefore a place to upload only good images. 

• Photos should normally be taken/uploaded at the highest pixel resolution your camera can achieve for JPG images.

• Photos with their quality/file size reduced by software are not normally wanted/accepted, and such photos will simply not be made live.  Original photos from modern digital cameras will normally be several megabytes in size, and have their EXIF info intact.

• Please enter a good description of what the photo shows and where it was taken. 

• Photos uploaded to the normal photo areas, and to the current Subscriber Competition, should accurately reflect the subject matter and the scene as it appeared. Photos that have been digitally altered beyond standard optimisation may only be uploaded to the special Graphics/Creations area, or the Effects area.  

If it helps, we normally define 'standard optimisation' as things like cropping, removing dust, and adjustments to brightness and contrast.   To be clear, this means it is fine to process your photos in things like Photoshop if you wish, and what we are basically asking is that you do not upload photos you have changed into what amount to 'graphics' or 'creations' into the normal photo areas.

Decisions re the competitions are made by our Webmasters.  All competitions can be ended or altered at any time.
