Olympic mayhem

Hi all,
Well, the time leading up to the London Olympics has seemed a little fraught in some ways.
Now we have made it to the opening day though I am really looking forward to it. I hope everyone here is.
I've been getting in the mood for it by traveling into town each day, and really soaking up the great atmosphere.
I went and saw the torch in Hillingdon in Outer London. Then at Wembley Stadium, and then again yesterday at Holland Park. Each time was fun, with huge crowds and lots of happy people about. Folks were all talking to each other and there seemed to be a real community spirit to it all.
The Police guarding the event were certainly doing the right things, with hi fives for the crowds and amusingly placed Olympic toys fixed onto their bikes and cars etc.
One of the things I always have in mind when these big one off events take place is the need to take photos. If you don't, you can never capture the event at any other point in the future. I suspect I'll want to remember and look back on the London Olympics for some decades.
If anyone has tickets I hope we'll see lots of great photos from you. The Olympic park may change greatly once it is all over, so now is the time to photograph it.
I watched the British football team last night, oh well, we can't have everything eh...
I look forward to seeing any photos anyone gets, anything neat and it is likely to win a prize of course...
Have a great couple of weeks,
Steve - in London, on London Olympics 2012 opening day.
