Just an Update

Rate this Entry
It seems like ages since I was on here last and even longer since I wrote my last blog.

Work has really taken over much of my time as I'm trying to learn new skills and then pass them on to others for future IT projects. These vary from WiFi roll outs to a complete router swap outs in 1300 sites. We've just completed a 127 site server swap out which took about 7 weeks. I've taken on new roles and I'm now out and about doing disaster recoveries on site, new installations and upgrades and loving it.

Photography has taken a back seat at the moment though I have taken my camera with me to the various sites that I've been to and tried to get some photos if I've the time. I even did a wedding the other week on an informal basis as the happy couple didn't want any formal photos which suited me fine.

Any spare time is spent with the family or pottering around in my greenhouse attempting to successfully grow peppers, chillies, cucumbers and tomatoes. The cucumber crop was huge, the peppers are delicious, the chillies hot and the tomatoes green, I've yet to have a good crop of tomatoes.

I won a charity auction for a days hunting with birds of prey in the local area and having spoken to the guy who runs the hunting, its ok to take photos so hopefully I will get a few good shots to upload.

Family life still goes on, with its ups and downs, the kids are due back at school Tuesday so a bit more time to relax in the evening as they will be in bed earlier for school.

Just settled down to watch the Kings Speech which I got weeks ago and haven't had time to watch.

All the best

Ryan

Good to hear the new type of work is working out for you. Sounds interesting stuff to me, nice and nerdy etc... Also a way to get out and about from the sound of things.

Opportunities to take photos seem to come in waves don't they.. the weather this year started out great and then really went downhill.. I didn't bother going to the coast etc once this summer and so my photo output has drastically reduced.

I look forward to seeing some photos when you get the chance to take any. Don't forget we only work to live, we don't live to work, and tis ultra important not to let it be all you do...

I quite liked the King's Speech, we just rented it.

    Take care,
