A load of rubbish ...as it turns out

by Roger on 8th May 2010 at 11:46 PM
I rose early this morning, unusually for a Saturday but even more unusual because I was due to set off to 'work' early.

Having retired from mainstream employment for some years, I have occupied my time with - amongst other things - involvement in parish council matters. The charity (FareShare Community Food Network) reckons it can save 300+ tonnes of surplus food from going to waste each year ...equates to around 800,000 meals!

Staggering statistics when you consider that's

'Twas an anti-climax, darling

by Roger on 25th March 2010 at 12:07 AM
I gather I am not alone in wondering what all the fuss was about. Having psyched myself up ready to rant and rave at the t.v., watching as the Chancellor delivered the budget ...it was all a bit of a let-down.

In his lunchtime blog on Wednesday 24th March, BBC political correspondent Nick Robinson described the budget as "short of significant economic announcements and very long on political positioning."

And I suppose that is to be expected. We're just about
