Thumbs up Free Olympic tickets for this Wednesday 5th of September

    Hi all,

A member has donated 2 Olympic Park entry tickets for use this Wednesday.

They ordered both Park tickets and event tickets and of course you get included park tickets when attending an event.. so they have the original Park Tickets spare and they have sent them to me recorded delivery.

So, anyone interested in seeing the Olympic Park this Wednesday the 5th of September? If one person is I don't mind going again and either keeping you company or just getting one ticket to you so you can just do your own thing - or if a couple want them then I can make arrangements to get both of the 2 tickets to you.

The park closes after the Paralympics and parts of it will remain closed for years as they are reworked. Much of what is there now will be gone. Homes will appear in places, and lots of different facilities for the local community. New entrances and roads will be added while some bridges and builings etc there now will go. Around the end of July 2013 the first part of the new Queen Elizabeth park will open up. Other areas will open in 2014/2015 etc.

So, speak up quickly if you want to go on Wednesday.. either in a reply to this, or a private message here to me, Steve.

OK...so no takers here then. This offer of free tickets obviously has to end now, as the day for their use is today.

I am so surprised that twice I have offered free entry to the Olympic park here and had no takers.

As it turned out these tickets for today allowed entry to the park including a large range of events and venues. All of that for free and nobody can be bothered to go..amazing...

Sorry, Steve, but I resent that comment somewhat.

I (and, I suspect, quite a few other ukexpert readers) am currently stuck in the office without any chance of taking advantage of offers like this one.

It is certainly NOT a case of "not being bothered..."

Re: Free Olympic tickets for this Wednesday 5th of September

    Bob,

Well I did put a smilie on it...

More seriously...most here are retired or semi retired, as I am.... or in jobs where they have so much holiday they find it hard to use it all. Most don't do all the travel you do and use up all their hols, with great trips like China on the horizon etc etc. How you use your hols has to be up to you not me... and choosing to use all of it on trips in a London Olympics year is totally up to you.

A lot of the Olympics and Paralympics is also after working hours of course, and probably a third or more of those going are probably doing so after work. The other day when I went those tickets actually only worked for something like 5pm til 9pm in the park.

The tickets for today worked from 9am this morning til something like 10:30pm tonight, and included entry to a lot of events.

Most firms would allow a couple of hours off in the afternoon for something like the Olympics you'd hope.. and many offer flexitime type arrangements....go in 2 days at 8am and leave one day at 3pm type stuff.

It is a shame you didn't find a way to come with me as I am sure you would have loved it... it was a brilliant day I must say... the weather could not have been better and the events and the venues they were in were really interesting. Doing 'the park' as I did does involve a lot of walking mind you.. not sure how your leg is these days.. I'd guess at it being easily 5 miles plus to cover the whole park and back to the start point etc.

I took photos of course, and they should be up tomorrow.

Maybe we can work it all better for the next London Olympics... we'll only be 110 or whatever...should be fine...

    Steve
