    Thumbs up Football at Wembley

    Hi all,

England play Germany at Wembley on Wednesday the 22nd of August.

At the moment you can enter the ballot for tickets by going to www.thefa.com and clicking on the ballot option.

It will start by asking your fan number. If you do not have one do not be put off, simply get one from the site, it is just a matter of registering and simply part of the security setup that they want to know who everyone at the game is etc.

If you decide to go do consider saying so here.. as there may be opportunities to travel with or meet up with others from here who are attending.

    Steve

PS: If anyone here joins 'England Fans' then it may be possible to actually book together with other England Fans members here, so that seating will be together etc. England Fans membership will usually allow buying tickets for England matches at Wembley without bothering with the ballot. Seeing England at Wembley is quite something, so visiting it seems to make a lot of sense... why not etc?

    Re: Football at Wembley

It appears I was successful in the ticket ballot and should soon be the happy recipient of a ticket ... So down to Wembley on August 22nd!

    Regards,

    Roger

    Roger,

That's great. Interesting to see where you are seated. When we did the ballot for the Brazil game we were pretty high up.

I would hope that a small group from here could meet up for the Germany game then... if you are driving down perhaps you can park at my place and travel together from here. It is 1 stop on a fast train on the Chiltern Line...or 2 or 3 on a slow train. It only takes something like 7-10 mins either way.

If you come down by train then meeting at the Stadium or nearby may make the most sense.

To actually sit together means booking together via the England Fans system.. with individual tickets we will be some way apart when actually inside the ground.. and they don't normally allow walking from one part of the ground to another I have a feeling.

Still, we can meet before and or after... and we can perhaps all get something to eat together etc. Should be good.

    Re: Football at Wembley

Apparently I am in Block 502 (North End) ...which is up in the gods somewhere ;-)

The process was quite interesting with automatic online refresh to indicate your position in the queue ...I got on at 10.00am and there were already over 1200 in the queue (my position was in the 900's). Took around 15 minutes to complete the transaction.

Not having done the system before, or being aware of the layout, I just went for my 'best guess' as to an available seat.

Should be fun/interesting though. To just be there for one of the first internationals at the new Wembley and soak up the atmosphere etc will be neat.

    Re: Football at Wembley

There are some more England matches coming up at Wembley.

    England v Israel
    Group E, Euro 2008 Qualifier
    Saturday 8 September 2007
    Wembley Stadium

    England v Russia
    Group E, Euro 2008 Qualifier
    Wednesday 12 September 2007
    Wembley Stadium

The Israel one I'm not sure about.. but with the Russia one there will be folks from here going for sure.

For both of the above the FA will be selling tickets via a ballot on the FA Web site.. which is of course at www.thefa.com

I will be driving down on the 22nd August, so a meet-up at some point on that day sounds good. I remember the stadium is one hop from there on Chiltern.
