    Cool

I am looking at upgrading my PC to an Apple, so I have to change all my software.
Currently I am using Photoshop CS2, but Apple now have a new state of the art package called Aperture. Does anybody have any experience of this package? Good, bad, easy to use etc

    Regards

    Simon

I have used it. It's what you might expect from a version 1.0 piece of software - incomplete, buggy, but interesting to see how it develops. It relies on heavyweight hardware for speed. Adobe Lightroom is another new product that's worth keeping an eye on. It's too early to say how good either will become in time.

Just because you're paranoid it doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

Are you sure that's an upgrade? Sounds like it will work out expensive for new software etc? Just wondered why are considering that move?

Cool Re: Apple Aperture Photo Software

The reason that I am upgrading is that my old PC has been with me for 6 years going through many different rebuilds & upgrades and its due another major one. The wife says the old system looks like a mess.

I've always wanted an Apple and the new 20" offereing with the high res screen looks great and has a good spec.

The only issue that I have is replacing the software, do I go for Photoshop CS2 or something else.

    Simon,

Does seem like you are due an upgrade. Moving to a Mac though is unusual but I guess you must have used one before and can handle all the changes.

    Good luck,

    Sundowner,

Which model are you thinking of getting? If it is the New intel version then that will run PS CS2 and most other third party apps at half speed so it will be slower than the G5 version. The intel version though is the future and I am sure that most companies will soon support it natively. There is also talk that you will be able to run Windows apps natively on it too so you might not need to upgrade any software you have.
