wireless or ethernet cable?

we are considering online gameing with a PS2, which is in a different room to the pc. We are being told that a router with a straight through cable is the best way.

However wireless would be more convenient, but will it work?

We use AOL 510 broadband

I use an XBOX with Broadband and a simple cable connection to a router. I do have wireless but don't use it with the XBOX.

My suggestion is that you use a supplier who promises what he sells you will work with your PS2 and AOL, and who tells you in advance how to connect it all up. In that vein this site seems to have pages of wireless routers listed as for the PS2...try this link to see what you think of what they list and the specifications etc..

I've had good experiences with Netgear products in recent times, and my favourite online supplier at present is dabs.com if a recommendation helps. Of course all suppliers and products can be problematical at times.

I have my PS2 online. Ive got a cable from it going to a router, and im on blueyonder broadband who are very good for gaming, they have a special part of their site for online console gaming too!
