    Question Publising a book?

I was just wondering if anyone here on the forum has any experience in getting a book published, in particular a quiz type book, a little like Sudoku books. I have an idea for a quiz book and was wondering if anyone knew the process of getting it published...

    Just in case. Cheers

Hi Dave, as a writer myself, I always say that a writers best book for help and guidance is 'The Writers and Artists Yearbook' (you may find a 2008 copy in your local reference library) You can purchase a copy from most big book stores, or even on line via Amazon.

The year book not only hosts handy hints and guidelines, but also gives details regarding publishers etc........So pick up a copy this weekend, Good Luck with your Quiz Book idea......cheers Katie

I was put on to www.lulu.com by a a bloke who works for them. I trusted him because he is in one of the ex military groups I am a member of.

The plus sides are that the books can be printed one at a time, the printer sends the book to the customer, the service costs the author nothing, so IMHO, is better than the "vanity publishing" option, and, one can take one's business elsewhere at a later date. The main drawback is the high cost of the manufacturing process. My autobiography sells for £9.95 in paperback and I don't see much of that. Another thing is that Amazon will not sell these books as they have their own publisher they are trying to push.

There are other similar publishers if you do not like the Lulu deal.

Why use a sledge hammer to crack a nut, when a steam roller will do an even better job, AND, is fun to drive.
